Macaulay Culkin’s “Home Alone” Face Mask is Peak Nostalgia
Kevin! Actor Macaulay Culkin rocked a “Home Alone” face mask, and you could practically hear Kevin McCallister’s post-aftershave scream. Culkin, who starred as Kevin McCallister himself in the iconic 1990 holiday film and its 1992 sequel, “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” returned to his child actor roots with a COVID-19 PSA on Instagram that is peak nostalgia.
Alongside a photo of himself in a mask printed with Kevin’s signature facial expression (a post-aftershave scream, both hands on the face and all), Culkin reminded his followers to wear a mask. “Just staying Covid-safe by wearing the flayed skin of my younger self,” Culkin captioned the Instagram post on October 8. “Don’t forget to wear your masks, kids.”
The icing on the nostalgic ‘90s film cake? A nod to the sequel film set in New York with a Lego rendering of the Empire State Building, perfectly constructed in the background of Culkin’s selfie.
Unfortunately, the actor did not tag the specific retailer of the mask for fans intent on copping the look, but fret not. We’ve rounded up similar options to incorporate into your holiday looks below.
