Name: Kadri Teider and husband
Location: London, United Kingdom
Size: 345 square feet
Years lived in: 4.5 years, renting

We found this little flat when we first moved to London, and it’s fair to say it wasn’t love at first sight (due to its size!). We were only planning to live here for a year max but then quickly realized how conveniently located everything around here was and decided to stay and embrace it. As moving in London can be especially stressful we were happy to stay where we were indefinitely.

We’re both used to living a compact lifestyle and have lived in small-ish flats together before. However, this one is different in that one of us frequently also works from home, so we have had to be creative to accommodate this. We feel like we’ve squished every last bit out of this place—it’s a real multitasking oasis!

Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Purposeful, Scandi, minimalistic, easy-going

What is your favorite room and why? Open plan living room/kitchen. It’s the big windows and high ceilings in the main living area (adjacent to our kitchen) that make this flat work well for us. As our home only has 344 square feet, we appreciate the fact that there’s not one wasted corner in this place. We have opted for a full-sized sofa (one could even say oversized!) as they always say full-sized furniture make a small room feel bigger. It’s also our favorite room for it allows us to live a flexible life with one of us cooking a meal and listening to their favorite music and the other watching a movie with bluetooth headphones whilst still being only 2 meters away from each other.

If you could magically change something about your home, what would it be? A bigger bedroom would be great. We currently have a European double bed and that’s the absolute maximum that fits. It’s too short and narrow for us to have a good night’s sleep.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? Kitty McCall cushions Marimekko flower vase.
