Have you recently had the urge to unplug from all of your digital devices and take a trip to the beach? Although it’s impossible to travel back in time, Hotels.com is sending a winner and their friend the opportunity to travel across the United States to the country’s best retro beach motels.

The motelier gig is offering the winner a $10,000 stipend to swap out their cell phone’s high-tech camera with a Polaroid camera to document their adventures. Instead of streaming music on Spotify or Apple Music, Hotels.com will also give their chosen guest a solar-powered AM/FM radio. Talk about a throwback!

Along with the camera and radio, the winner’s travel essentials include old-fashioned high SPF zinc sunscreen, striped umbrellas, vintage sunglasses, a cooler for your go-to drinks and a $5,000 salary to spend on classic poolside snacks. Snow cones, frozen custard and saltwater taffy are a must-have for this adventure across ten different beaches on the west coast and east coast. Now that you’ve covered the essentials in your beach bag, what beaches are included on your motelier journey?

The art deco Vagabond Hotel in Miami and Casa Morada located in Islamorada are going to give travelers a taste of the Caribbean with a hint of the Floridian lifestyle. San Diego’s The Pearl Hotel offers its guests the boutique experience while the Montauk Beach House in Long Island provides a relaxing sample of the upstate life without the bustling city experience.
