I write about house tours (but I love a good kitchen and kids' room article). My work can be found across AT Media, including The Kitchn and Cubby. I’ve been writing about home-related topics for nearly five years and love seeing how people make their homes unique.

Bathroom mirrors are something I often take for granted. It sounds sort of self-centered, but when I’m looking in that direction, I’m typically looking at just myself. I might pause a second to admire the frame (especially if there’s DIY bobbin detailing), but more often than not, the mirror won’t grab my attention the same way bathroom paint color or unique light fixtures will.

However, Rachel and John Thompson’s bathroom in their renovated New Orleans home made me do a double take. The couple (plus John’s dad!) has done a lot of work on their house and invested around $60,000 into the project. The entire home is gorgeous, but the bathroom mirror setup in this bathroom is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before — but makes the whole room look luxe.

Multiple Bathroom Mirrors Make This Bathroom Stand Out

“We needed something very wide because of how wide the dresser is,” Rachel explains of the unusual mirror choice in this bathroom. She says they originally had a huge antique mirror hanging on the wall, but explains that it “was very heavy and started to come off the wall and we were afraid it would bring the house down with it.” After that experience, Rachel and John decided to find something wide but very light (as to keep the house intact). Eventually she thought, “why not hang a bunch of mirrors next to each other!”

Four of these gold oval mirrors from Target looks incredible hung side by side

Rachel found this 20×28 inch gold metal oval mirror at Target (on sale right now for $69.99!) and purchased four of them to hang side by side. This setup covers almost the entire length of the vanity and adds so much visual intrigue. The separate frames create breaks in the mirrored surfaces, but the mirrors are still large enough that your reflection (or multiple people’s) isn’t compromised.

Having the four oval-shaped mirrors rather than one large rectangle creates a unique shape, too. It forms a scalloped effect, which adds more character to the room. The mirror layout is also wide enough that it seamlessly complements the light fixture hanging in front.
