Thanksgiving place setting of gold and white plates with gold napkin and holly. Mini orange pumpkin, dried leaves, and candles on table

Thanksgiving is just not Thanksgiving without turkey — except this year, things are going to look a little different when it comes to fall decor trends. Though there’s still plenty of room for the bird, Thanksgiving home decor trends are turning the attention away from turkeys and toward a more nature-inspired, harvest aesthetic, with mushroom motifs taking center stage.

Last year, we were obsessed with an adorable LED mushroom lamp from John Derian’s Target Thanksgiving collection, and it seems the motif is popping up everywhere again this year, faster than you can say “fungi.”

So if you’re wondering how to decorate your space during the awkward post-Halloween, pre-holidays period, think Chaga, Lion’s Mane, Fly Agaric, Oyster, and Cremini. With so many different varieties, textures, and colors, mushroom decor packs a punch — and is a great way to curate those cozy autumnal vibes from your tablescape to your front door (and without feeling gimmicky!)

Check out some of my favorite freshly foraged fungi finds below.

Handmade 3-Piece Paper Honeycomb Mushrooms
$20

Paper honeycomb decorations are another rising trend, especially for the holiday season. Despite being constructed from paper, these honeycomb mushrooms have a more elevated feel thanks to their autumnal hues and durable cardstock construction. They add a ton of texture to your tablescape, entryway table, or fireplace mantle, especially when paired with scattered pumpkins, pine cones, and other seasonal items for a foraged feel.
