Content creator Samantha Braucht of Little Pomme Lane remembers the pressure of finding a new apartment in New York City after finding out she and her husband, Drew, were expecting a baby. Anyone who has moved to this city — pregnant or not — understands it’s a challenge.

“We originally were looking for somewhere in Brooklyn — scouring StreetEasy hourly for new listings but never finding anything that ‘spoke to me,’” Samantha explains. “Nothing makes me happier than a beautiful home and decorating, so we needed somewhere that would make me feel that aha moment.”

On a serendipitous Friday evening, Samantha came across a listing for a two-bedroom apartment in a TriBeCa building that Drew was familiar with (his friend used to live there). “I’ve never hit ‘reply’ so fast to something in my life,” Samantha recalls. The neighborhood, which is known for being family-friendly, would be the perfect place to raise their daughter, Eloise, (and walk their pup, Lady!), and it was also listed by a brokerage that Samantha had a friend at. They went to view the home the next day.

“We signed immediately after walking in,” Samantha remembers. “Everything somehow fell in line for this, and we felt we were meant to be here!” She had visions of her daughter running around the ample living room and ways to make it reflect her family. Three years later, it’s become a reality, and several projects — including painting Eloise’s bathroom and transforming a vintage dresser, have made it feel like home.
