A London House Once “Lacked Color” but Is Now a Pattern Lover’s Absolute Dream
After living in a London house for five years, a couple and their young daughter hired sisters Caroline and Sarah Stemp, of Sascal Studio, to reimagine their home. The clients had already added a top floor with a third bedroom and bathroom for their young daughter and wanted to fill their house with personality.
The interior designers described the initial space as having “much less color” and looking “very dated.” However, after adding several patterns through gorgeous wallpaper and soft paint colors like Farrow & Ball’s “Setting Plaster,” the home was completely transformed.
“Colorful, lots of pattern, layered, and a well-zoned family home,” the interior designers now describe the space. One of the designers’ favorite rooms that they worked on is the daughter’s room.
“We wrapped the room in the most beautiful wallpaper from Sanderson and did the curtains in the same pattern to keep the room feeling cohesive and super cozy,” the designers explain. “It feels like such a magical world up in this room when you walk in!”
While the designers’ favorite room might be the child’s, I’m finding it increasingly tricky to pick a preferred space in the gorgeous home.
