I write about house tours (but I love a good kitchen and kids' room article). My work can be found across AT Media, including The Kitchn and Cubby. I’ve been writing about home-related topics for nearly five years and love seeing how people make their homes unique.

While some people might enjoy the look and feel of stainless steel appliances, others see them as a distraction from the overall ambiance in their kitchen. And while painting your refrigerator or wrapping it in fabric to help blend it into the room might not necessarily be a new project, there is a popular color that’s emerging: pink.

It turns out that the color pink isn’t just for kids’ bedrooms — it actually works really well on refrigerators. It takes a cold, usually lifeless appliance and turns it into a vibrant statement piece that’ll surely garner comments from guests. If you’re looking for inspiration, keep reading to see how pink fridges make these real-home kitchens shine.

A Pink Floral Fridge Complements a Color-Drenched Kitchen

When Amber and Nathan Sherman purchased their 1880s home in Vermont, it looked much different. For starters, the couple originally wanted a neutral palette — especially in the kitchen. That changed in 2021 when the couple remodeled with color in mind, and painted a floral pattern on their kitchen using light pink and purple paints. (It matches the baby pink cabinets perfectly.)

A Bright Pink Big Chill Fridge Adds Drama to This Kitchen

“The kitchen is our sanctuary, as we love to drink, cook, and eat (well, I enjoy watching Alex cook and devouring his creations),” Alicia Savin says of her colorful home. For a room as special as their kitchen, it’s no surprise pink appliances were a go-to. “The statement piece that defines the room and the entire home. When we decided to renovate, I knew this Big Chill fridge and its ‘telemagent’ color option was a must-have.”

A Baby-Pink Mini Fridge Is Actually Used for Purse Storage

Just like fridges don’t have to be white or stainless steel, they also don’t have to be located in the kitchen, and they don’t have to be used solely for food storage. Rachel Ramsower uses the mini, baby-pink Igloo fridge in her Austin duplex for purse storage.

A Pink Fridge Adds Subtle Color to a Neutral Kitchen

The pink front door is foreshadowing what’s to come in Sophie Loghman and Saba Loghman’s colorful Atlanta Airbnb. In the kitchen, there’s a soft pink-colored Big Chill fridge that adds a subtle pop of color to the otherwise neutral space.

Painted Pink Appliances Help to Color-Drench This Kitchen

Based on the exterior of Adora’s Nashville home (spoiler: It’s pink!), it shouldn’t come as a complete shock that the kitchen is bursting with that color too. Painting the appliances in a bright pink is actually Adora’s proudest DIY project in the house.

Pink Contact Paper Adds Even More Playfulness to This Fun Kitchen

What makes Averie Cole’s kitchen in her Jersey City loft so cool is how the paint is an ombré coloring that fades from pinks to oranges. But that’s not all — the fridge is contact-papered in a pink and orange tiger and leaf pattern. It ties the entire room together without clashing with the bold paint.

This Kitchen’s Pink Fridge Is the Tie Between Minimalism and Maximalism

Kate Jansen, who owns a wonderful home in Victoria, Australia, calls her design style a “mediumalist.” (The gray area between a minimalist and a maximalist.) The pink Big Chill fridge in her otherwise all-white, minimalist kitchen is the perfect example of this.

You Don’t Have to Pay a Lot to Get a Pink Fridge

It was Kristin Cedar’s dream to have a pink Smeg refrigerator in her Portland, Oregon, apartment, but she couldn’t justify the high cost. However, that wasn’t going to stop her from getting a pink appliance. She wrapped her fridge and dishwasher in pink contact paper, which helped her to save money while adding vibrancy to the room.
