The $23 Bathroom Organizer I’m Buying for Towel Storage (It Works in the Kitchen, Too!)

I’ve really grown to love studio apartment living — it makes me stay on top of keeping everything tidy — but there were definitely a few kinks I had to work out in the beginning. Before I really began to appreciate my tiny home, its lack of storage frustrated me to no end. The bathroom was a particularly rough thorn in my side. I filled the under-sink cabinet almost immediately to the brim with hair tools and toiletries, which left pretty much nowhere to keep my towels.

I tried out a few cabinet organizers, but it didn’t free up nearly enough room for my towels. After I started brainstorming, I realized that a wall-mounted towel rack was the only way to go. Not only would it take up zero square footage, but it would also take advantage of the unused vertical space. If you want to create more storage out of thin air, too, then QVC has a $23 towel rack that does exactly that — and it’s even more useful if you decide to place it in the kitchen instead!

Apartment Therapy editors have turned to Sorbus’ closet organizers in the past and called them completely “game-changing” before, so it comes as no surprise to me that shoppers are loving its multifunctional wine-slash-towel rack. If you have no room for a bar cart — I’m right there with you — then you can mount this gem on the wall of your kitchen or dining room.

A QVC shopper makes another good point in the reviews: You can also designate a slot for paper towels or boxes of foil and cling wrap, which might even free up a kitchen cabinet. If you still haven’t found a good spot for your oven mitt, you can hang that on this organizer, too!

The metal finish and swirl-shaped details will add some rustic charm to whatever area you hang it in, including the bathroom. It can keep up to six towels out of the way, but easily accessible thanks to the spacing between each section. In fact, that’s one advantage this towel rack has over my current one: When you need to grab a towel from its slot, all of the others will remain secure. Another pro is that it’s much taller, measuring 43 inches. At only 6 inches deep, it also won’t stick out too far from the wall and get in your way. That’s crucial, as any small space dweller will tell you.

On that note, this organizer comes with mounting hardware, too, and no assembly is needed. If being a renter is holding you back from installing things on your wall, let me assure you that a towel rack (if you don’t put it in your kitchen, that is) is totally worth the few holes you’ll have to patch up later. Trust me, it’ll make your bathroom so much more functional in the meantime!
