This $7 Room Spray Smells Like Spring in a Bottle (I Use It Everywhere!)
Because I write about home and style topics, I receive a lot of fragrance products, whether it’s a pillow mist in a goodie bag from an event, a reed diffuser in a seasonal mailer, or a new launch from a candle brand. I never get tired of receiving and trying new home fragrance products. In fact, they’re some of my favorite items to test.
When it comes to room sprays in particular, I’ve tried a lot — both from luxurious brands and less expensive ones. If I’m being honest, none really stood out to me … until recently. A few weeks ago, I received Grove Co.’s Pacific Primrose room spray. It’s part of the brand’s limited-edition spring collection, and for only $7 it’s a great value. I’m kind of obsessed with it, and I’m definitely stocking up on more bottles before it’s gone for good. You should, too — here’s why.
What Is the Pacific Primrose Room Spray?
For spring, Grove Co. re-released its bestselling hand soap, surface cleaner concentrate, laundry detergent sheets, and more in two refreshing scents: Atlantic Dune Grass and Pacific Primrose. The first one is good; it has a grassy, fresh linen scent. But it was the Pacific Primrose scent that instantly had me hooked. The fragrance has notes of soft florals and amber, so it’s flowery and sweet without being sharp or overwhelming.
Like most of Grove Co.’s products, the room spray is vegan and cruelty-free, and it’s derived from plant-based ingredients. As a result, I don’t worry about the fact that I might be breathing in harmful substances when I spray it. It comes in a bottle of 4 fluid ounces, which fits roughly in the palm of my hand and contains enough of the spray to last four or five months, if I had to guess.
Why I Love the Pacific Primrose Room Spray
I’ve tried some luxurious room sprays — the most expensive of which cost $90 for a 3.4-fluid-ounce bottle — but none were as strong as I would’ve liked, and they all disappeared within a few seconds after I sprayed them onto my rugs, bedding, or upholstered furniture. Usually I’d just spray one as an afterthought when I finished cleaning my apartment, knowing it wouldn’t last.
But that’s not the case with Grove Co.’s room spray. The first time I used it I sprayed a generous amount (like five spritzes onto the small rug in my bedroom). When I walked back into my room a couple of minutes later, I was amazed to find that the entire room smelled of blooming flowers with a warm, ambery base. In other words, a little bit of this stuff goes a long way. Now I’ll only do one or two spritzes on each rug or piece of furniture. The scent lasts a long time, too. If I spray my living room in the evening, I can still smell the floral fragrance the next morning while I’m getting ready for work.
The other thing I love about this room spray is that it smells way nicer than a similarly priced spray you could buy elsewhere. This one has depth and smells sophisticated, in my opinion. Truth be told, sometimes I’m tempted to spray it on myself or onto freshly washed clothes — it smells better than a lot of high-end perfumes I’ve tried! The bottle is nice, too. It’s made of recyclable glass and sprays in a fine mist.
I wouldn’t recommend the Pacific Primrose spray as an odor eliminator. (That’s not really its intended purpose, anyway.) Instead, it’s a wonderful, inexpensive addition to the home if you’re looking to achieve a pretty spring ambiance. Because Grove Co.’s spring scents are limited-edition, this one won’t stay in stock for much longer. So be sure to stock up! I definitely will.
