These Studios Prove That One Room Living Can Be Super Stylish

In most of the glamorous homes you see on decorating websites, the living room, dining room, kitchen, and bedroom are all separate spaces. So what are you to do when you’ve living in an apartment that is really just a single room with a stove and a sink on one end? Take inspiration from this collection of super stylish studio apartments. As these spaces prove, living in one room doesn’t have to mean sacrificing style.

Tamar has managed to squeeze plenty of living into her 270 square foot studio in Chelsea.

This bright and airy Manhattan studio is full of mid-century charm while at the same time feeling comfortable and modern. The minimal use of vibrant color creates a startling contrast in this clean white space.

Cindy Zhang drew inspiration from Scandinavian design, contemporary typography and vintage posters to decorate her small San Francisco studio. But she also heavily considered furniture shapes and sizes to complement the layout of her studio; Cindy’s apartment actually feels quite spacious. And she’s carved out dedicated areas for work, relaxing, hosting friends, and even for her beloved piano.

Kaitlin is a graphic designer in Denver, Colorado; so it came as no surprise to discover her space to be so sufficiently streamlined, while also looking so good. Her studio is fun and functional, from her decorative use of her IKEA shelving to her DIY faux fireplace. Every inch of her 550-square-foot studio is thoughtfully utilized.

Tech investor and writer Terri Burns just moved into her first studio apartment. Though she doesn’t know the exact size of it, you can see it’s on the smaller side. But it doesn’t feel tiny or cluttered in the slightest. Rather, this is a home that’s airy, spacious-feeling, and with just a hint of glam.
