As much as I love summer and being outdoors when the weather is nice, even I can admit that too much sun can disrupt a friendly gathering. After all, it’s hard to focus on a conversation when you’re squinting and sweltering. So, any time I plan an outdoor get-together, making sure there’s substantial shade is always top of mind.

If you like to host parties on your patio, an umbrella is the obvious answer to preventing sunburns and sweating. Although many full-size patio umbrellas can cost hundreds of dollars, you can usually find good deals on them. Right now, The Home Depot has tons of shop-worthy outdoor deals. Its Spring Savings event is live and in looking through the discounts, I found a great one on a patio umbrella with built-in LED lights. It’s selling fast now that it’s such a low price, so be sure to grab it for less in a fun color while you can.

What Is the Sun-Ray Solar Patio Umbrella?

This umbrella has generally positive ratings, with reviewers praising its durable powder-coated steel pole and polyester canopy. As you’d expect, the materials are weather-resistant, meaning the umbrella will hold up regardless of rain or intense sunshine.

Some reviewers also noted being surprised by just how big the umbrella is. It measures 9 feet across the top and almost 8 feet tall. The canopy tilts, too, so you could even make it work on a smaller deck or terrace by adjusting the angle. A crank-lift system makes opening and closing the umbrella a breeze, while a push-button mechanism allows for easy canopy tilting and pole lowering.

Of course, the most notable feature of this product is the built-in system of LED lights. The lights line the interior of the canopy, and there are 32 to be exact. Because they’re solar-powered, you don’t have to worry about plugging in a cord or recharging any batteries.

This umbrella is a fantastic addition for cozy fall evenings outdoors. “This umbrella is pretty awesome. It’s fairly lightweight yet feels sturdy! It cranks up/down with ease. The best part? The built-in lighting that runs on solar power.
