This Family of 4 Shares a Small Scandi-Inspired Santa Barbara Rental Bungalow
“My husband, our two kids, and two dogs all share this cozy little bungalow in the heart of Santa Barbara,” begins Hannah Mestyanek of the 800-square-foot home the family has rented for two years.
“We are the first tenants to rent this new-build, so we really got to put our stamp on it,” Hannah continues. She says that when they moved in, the space was basically just a plain white box.
Hannah and her husband’s design plan was to create a lived-in, warm, and cozy home. “We tend to favor a more neutral color palette with warm hints of color here and there. My husband and I both work in healthcare, so we love coming home to a space that is visually calming. It’s not sad beige if it makes you happy!”
“We recently welcomed our second baby, so space is at a premium! We love baskets and furniture with lots of additional storage space to make the most of our 800 square feet.”
