Let’s face it — I love lounging on my couch on a regular day but especially during the colder months. Because there’s no room for a side table in my small New York City apartment, though, all of my “couch-rotting” supplies — my phone, requisite three-drink minimum, TV remote, and my current read — end up scattered between my coffee table and kitchen island, which are both far enough out of reach to be inconvenient when I’m in hibernation mode. That’s where this genius little Couch Caddy from Uncommon Goods comes in.

I’m positive it’s the perfect present for all my fellow homebodies, and at only $50, you know I’ll be grabbing one for myself, too. Here’s why.

What Is the Uncommon Goods Couch Caddy?

Uncommon Goods has tons of great gifts, but the Couch Caddy stood out to me due to its flexible, paneled design. The acacia-wood panels allow it to sling over the left arm of most couches or armchairs (square and rounded alike!) to keep all your essentials within reach. It’s also finished with a nonslip material underneath for extra stability. Think about it: Your giftee won’t have to awkwardly balance drinks on the armrest anymore, so you’re saving them from future spills!

Equipped with a tray on top and a pocket at the side, the Couch Caddy holds whatever you need it to, which is why I think it’s a great gift for anyone. From your friend who likes to craft while watching their shows (it’s the perfect spot for supplies!) and the cinephile who likes to snack during the movie, to your bookish pal who reads with a cup of tea.

Couch-rotting aside, the caddy is a total space-saver if you live in a small apartment with no room for a side table. And it’ll help clear clutter from your coffee table (or in my case, my kitchen island) by giving your TV remote and other accessories a dedicated resting place. It’s the most practical gift!

What Uncommon Goods Reviewers Are Saying

“I just have a coffee table in my small living room, and I hated having to reach forward to get my book or phone or tea. Now they are all near. Added bonus, this lovely couch caddy is secure enough that my enthusiastic 12-pound miniature pincher can’t knock anything over.” —Nana Kim

“These couch caddies are amazing! They are well-made out of quality materials and so very easy to use. We have one on our couch where it is not possible to put an end table. I plan on getting more to use as Christmas gifts this year. That’s how great I think they are!” —Leenda Crus

“Do you know how many times we’ve been downstairs watching a movie on the couch and got tired of leaning over to reach a glass or a snack on the coffee table? This fixed everything! Everything is right within reach, and it’s the perfect size! Great gift idea. I never knew I needed this, but it helps!” —Denise

“I purchased two of these as gifts … for guys that are hard to shop for. The other men at the event were disappointed and asked where to get one. It was sturdy, attractive, and even smelled nice. So far it has solved the mystery of missing remotes and preserved furniture.” —Miiss Chris

Clearly I’m not alone in thinking the Couch Caddy is gift material. Which is why it’s sure to sell fast as the holidays near. I’d go ahead and order a couple — one for you and another for your giftee — before that happens!
