This year is the year of a burgundy Christmas, but what if you could take this gorgeously dramatic aesthetic up a notch? Walmart’s got you covered. The department store is selling the most beautiful gift wrap that you’ll likely see all year. As you package those last-minute gifts, consider this stunning Walmart find that’s under $7.

“PSA: Run to Walmart,” Danielle Lapenta Bostick (@fourthandeastmain) wrote in a recent Instagram caption. “Flocked velvet gift wrap for $6 (large roll!!) and matching gift bags the entire set for only $6. This one’s going to disappear fast. Cannot recommend enough.”

Walmart Is Selling Velvet Wrapping Paper in a Huge Roll

The velvet wrapping paper is made by Walmart’s brand Holiday Time, and each roll comes with over 78 inches of paper measuring just over 2 feet wide. Both patterns, available in a Ralph Lauren-esque deep red and hunter green, are accented with soft and luxurious flocking that makes its finish look more like fabric than wrapping paper. It’s no surprise people were running to the store to snag.

“I DIED when I saw this in the store! Stunning. I bought enough to last me many years,” one shopper commented on Bostick’s post. Another added, “How pretty,” to which Bostick commented back, “Very impressed with it TBH. And the fact that there’s a great amount on the roll.”

Those who have sourced the paper for gifts suggest using a heftier tape to make your wrapping experience less frustrating. Glue dots could work while making your wrapping look extra polished — just make sure to adhere them to an unflocked portion of the paper for a secure hold.

Looking for texture, but your Walmart doesn’t have it in stock? You can also check out gilded Kraft wrapping paper from Amazon. It also creates a textured, luxe look that would pair nicely with velvet ribbon.

Pick up these flocked wrapping papers from Walmart to really up your wrapping game this year. They’ll look so nice under your Christmas tree, and with 78 inches on the roll, you’ll have plenty for next year, too!
