The Most Asked About Item in This Designer’s Apartment Cost Under $300 — and Always Sells Out

In a world where homes are increasingly filled with curated, vintage pieces — some very expensive — it’s natural to assume that those get all the attention. And while thrifting and sourcing add meaning to inanimate objects and share a reflection of you, sometimes it’s the most unexpected items that take the spotlight. 

At least that’s the case in Hollis Loudon Puig’s, founder of Hollis Loudon Interiors, colorful, maximalist apartment in Brooklyn. After moving into the home, which initially was essentially a blank, updated canvas, Hollis worked tirelessly to find affordable and unique pieces to give the space “plenty of layering and the kind of high-low balance that makes a home interesting,” she explained at the time of the House Tour. 

But out of all the beautiful bits and bobs in Hollis’ home, one item gets asked about the most. “Hands-down, my Wayfair burlwood credenza,” she explained at the time of the House Tour. “It cost less than $300 — yes, you read that correctly — and it gets more DMs than any designer piece I have ever posted.”
