Anthropologie’s New Collab Is Super Fishy — and I Mean That in the Best Way

Tinned fish is having a moment within the culinary world, and now it’s making a splash in the home decor scene. Anthropologie teamed up with designer Dasha Lebedev to launch a cheeky new collection inspired by the tinned fish phenomenon, and it’s so cute.

Lebedev is the creator of The Original Tinned Fish Candle, so you know the new Anthropologie collection had to include a few of the company’s bestsellers. This Olive Oil & Sea Salt scent, for example, looks exactly like a tin of sardines — in fact, you wouldn’t know it’s a candle until you open it. 

Peel back the aluminum lid to reveal the two-wick candle that features notes of mineral-rich sea salt, cardamom, orange peel, palm, musk, and amber (aka definitely not fish). The candle itself looks like two fish packed in an olive oil brine, which is both beautiful and tasty-looking!

“Whimsical candle,” one Anthropologie shopper wrote in their review. “Came in a cute pouch perfect for gifting. Wasn’t expecting it to be wrapped in paper like sardines, which adds to the cuteness! Pleasant scent.”

But this collection isn’t all candles — there are also beach towels, glassware, doormats, and these adorable dessert plates. Available in yellow, blue, and peach, each plate has one of Tinned Candle’s illustrated characters in the center with a phrase to match. The plates are dishwasher and microwave-safe, hand-painted, and made with durable stoneware that will last for years to come.
