Caraway Just Released the Prettiest Storage Set I’ve Ever Owned (It’s Completely Stackable!)
My cabinets, to put it mildly, are pretty chaotic. While a lot of it has to do with the general lack of cabinets in my kitchen — and the few I do have are annoyingly shallow — it’s mostly my own fault. I’m guilty of piling in my pantry staples and snacks without any sort of strategy, and the store-bought packaging makes for an even more cluttered look. Worse, it makes things difficult to find, so I’ll sometimes even forget what I have and buy duplicates.
Slowly but surely, I’m making progress on every shelf, and all of the credit for one of my cabinets’ latest transformations goes to Caraway’s new Glass Airtight Container Set. It’s by far the prettiest food storage set that I’ve ever seen, and I expected no less from the brand that’s behind some of the most Instagrammable cookware on the market. Since every piece is stackable, it takes advantage of all of my cabinet’s dead space and looks dang good while doing it — so much so that I’m tempted to put it on my counter instead.
What Is the Caraway Glass Airtight Container Set?
Caraway’s latest launch includes 14 pieces: five glass containers, matching airtight lids, a stainless steel scoop, a quarter measuring cup, and a magnetic storage organizer to keep them secure in your cabinet. There’s one 4-quart container, two 2.5-quarts, and two 1-quarts. Everything stacks together to take up as little space as possible; when everything sits on the base, it measures 18.4 inches long and 6.5 inches wide. It’s roughly 9 inches tall altogether.
Like the brand’s nonstick cookware, it’s made with nontoxic materials — you won’t find any BPA, BPS, PFOA, PFAS, or forever chemicals here. The high-resistance glass shouldn’t ever show scratches or stains, and you can make them spotless by washing them by hand or putting them in the dishwasher.
The true standout of the set is True Airtight seal technology on every lid. It’s designed to preserve freshness and keep out air, moisture, and pests (and pretty much anything else you can think of). They also come in some gorgeous colors, like cream and sage green. That way, you can throw out the packaging of your baking ingredients, grains, snacks, and more and store them in style.
Why I Love the Caraway Glass Airtight Container Set
I knew it would take a miracle for my cluttered kitchen cabinets to actually look nice — because even when I tried to straighten things up in the past, the clunky store-bought packaging was difficult to organize. Not to mention, bags of flour, ground coffee, and sugar are pretty much impossible to stack on top of each other, so a good amount of vertical space was being wasted.
In this case, my miracle came in the form of Caraway’s container set. It creates a shocking amount of storage despite its surprisingly compact footprint. Not only are my kitchen cabinets shallow, but they also don’t offer much height between the shelves, but when it’s entirely assembled, this set still fits perfectly. The fabric storage organizer also keeps the containers from sliding or toppling over, which is amazing for someone who drops things as frequently as me.
It helps that the glass is also sturdy. I’ve bonked the containers against the side of my sink while hand-washing them a few times, but there’s no sign of cracking or chipping yet (though I’m not going to test my luck by dropping them if I can help it). I can also tell that the lids are of a similar high quality; there’s a small button on the top that you can push to block out the air, and when you want to open the lid, you push the button again and it easily lifts off.
In the large container, I keep flour, though the brand says it’s suitable for sugar, pasta, and cereal, too. In each of the mediums, I keep brown sugar and cane sugar, but rice, pasta, beans, and snacks are also fair game. Finally, I dedicated the remaining two jars to coffee grounds and granola, and I could eventually swap them out for spices or speeds. The included scoops come in handy for measuring, though I do wish there was a place to store them that wasn’t inside the containers.
I haven’t owned this set long enough to know if it keeps food fresh longer compared with regular packaging, but from what I can tell, there are no gaps around the lids, so so far so good. Regardless, the gorgeous sage color and space-saving modular design are worth it. And knowing the quality of Caraway’s cookware, it’ll be years by the time this set needs replacing (if it ever does).
