Name: Lauren and Jason Location: West Seattle — Seattle, Washington Size: 1,792 square feet Years lived in: 3-1/2 years The first time I got a look at Lauren and Jason’s super chic West Seattle townhome, I was a guest at their “Roaring Twenties”-themed 2016 Oscar party. I climbed the stairs, turned the corner into their kitchen, and bam! It was all Great Gatsby up in that place.

Evan and Gavin have perfected the art of finding impressive decor at antique and thrift shops. Their Seattle home is a treasure trove of mid-century modern finds and one-of-a-kind pieces. Name: Angel and Ben Location: Fremont — Seattle, Washington Size: 580 square feet Years lived in: 1 year, renting The first thing you notice when walking into Angel and Ben’s Fremont studio is the huge floor-to-ceiling windows at the far end of the space, letting light pour into their living area.

Name: Kim Location: Capitol Hill — Seattle, Washington Size: 650 square feet Years lived in: 3 years, renting Having great style kinda comes with the territory when you’re a successful jewelry maker (and the owner of a business like Fresh Tangerine), but Kim has a particular brand that you just don’t see very often. She describes her home’s look as quirky Parisian with some PNW cozy mixed in. And it’s so true!

Name: Joe Gast and Willow the Weimaraner Location: Leschi — Seattle, Washington Size: 1,690 square feet Years lived in: 25 years, owned My 1908 Leschi cottage was a victim of several ill-conceived remodels and plenty of deferred maintenance. A transplant from Ohio, with an Ohioan’s modest budget, I purchased the house because it was in my price range and it was located on a magical stairway, steps above Lake Washington.

Name: Mona Tavakoli, Beau Ritten, and cats Minnow and Sushi Location: Central District — Seattle, Washington Size: 700 square feet Years lived in: 2 years, renting Make your way up the stairs to Mona and Beau’s converted top-floor apartment in the heart of the Emerald City, and you can feel the eclectic vibes seeping into the landing. The elongated cat statue staring at you on your way in could be playing a large part. Needless to say, their pad is very cool.

Name: Gaby Dalkin Location: Lower Queen Anne — Seattle, Washington Size: 2,000 square feet Years lived in: 6 months, owned “I love the Seattle house!” I had just wrapped up shooting food blogger Gaby Dalkin’s lower Queen Anne townhome when she let out that statement with a serene smile.

Name: Mary Lee, her partner Jacob and her sweet chihuahua Kyley Location: Seattle, Washington Size: 366 square feet Years lived in: 1 year, owned The amount of blood, sweat and tears in any home remodel is substantial. But can you imagine the amount while making over a 366 square foot studio when you’re still living in it? A space that you share with your partner and a dog? It’s extraordinary, chaotic, and in Mary Lee’s case, ultimately worth it.

Name: Jason Location: Fremont — Seattle, Washington I live in a three-story, 1520-square foot town home in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood. I bought the house a little over two years ago after leaving Washington, DC to start a new job at Amazon. I fell in love with the house right away. Built in 2009, it was one of the first LEED Platinum developments in Seattle, complete with a rainwater recycling system and other green building elements.

Names: Finley (4-years-old) and Jackson (5 1/2 years old) Location: Seattle, Washington Room sizes: Bathroom – 47 square feet; Finley’s Room – 100 square feet; Jackson’s Room -130 square feet The adorable Finley and Jackson of Finley and Jackson’s “Modern Shabby-Chic” Bedrooms & Playrooms are back with new and improved big kid bedrooms and bathroom. Their mom, Emily, had been thinking about adding a bathroom to the upper level of their home for years.

Our neighbors and friends Becky and Andrew were recently featured on Apartment Therapy, and live 2 floors up, so we have the exact same layout—which I thought might be an interesting feature to see. Recently, the entire apartment was shot by friend and studio mate Rafael Soldi.

Name: Isabelle and Nick Robertson Location: Ballard; Seattle, Washington Size: 1,700 square feet Years lived in: 7 years; Rented When Isabelle and Nick moved to Seattle from Brooklyn seven years ago, they moved into an empty warehouse owned by their in-laws. Previously occupied by a business, the space had no kitchen, no windows and only a urinal in the bathroom!

Name: Danielle Bellert Location: Between Wallingford and Fremont; Seattle, Washington Size: 400 square feet Years lived in: 4 years; Rented What would you do with 400 square feet of space? If you’re anything like Danielle Bellert, you would style it up adorably and live with intent. Located between the bustling neighborhoods of Wallingford and Fremont in Seattle, this tiny cottage is a one-room wonder, complete with lofted bedroom.

Name: Brooke Location: Seattle, WA I’m a graphic designer + art director living in Seattle. I moved here a year ago from San Francisco, and found the best little loft apartment. I was working from home, so it was important to make a space I loved being in… all day long. A lot of the my stuff from San Francisco didn’t fit in my apartment (so it’s in my boyfriends equally as awesome apartment), and I bought some new pieces. I’m from Texas, so I love ranch style decor.

Name: Katie Hackworth, principal designer and owner of H2 Design + Build, her husband Paul, their two daughters & three rescue mutts Location: Bellevue, Washington (a stone’s throw away from Seattle) Size: Approximately 1600 square feet Years lived in: 8 months; Rented Early last summer, Katie and her family decided to sell their modern farmhouse, which they built from 2010 to 2011. When the house sold, the new owners purchased about 75% of the furnishings.

Name: Emily and Kai Location: Seattle, Washington Size: 1,700 square feet Years lived in: 4 years; Owned Recently I did a tour of Emily and Kai’s darling children’s bedrooms and playroom, Finley and Jackson’s Modern Shabby-Chic Bedrooms and Playrooms; this is the rest of their lovely home.

Name: Sean & Kristen Location: Pike Place Market area – Seattle, Washington Our home is a rented 950 square foot condo in downtown Seattle between the Elliott Bay waterfront and Pike Place Market. It’s a large open floor plan studio with exposed brick, beam, and ductwork. We are two commercial product photographers who moved to Seattle a little over a year ago because we both loved the mountains and water.

Name: Jen Location: Seward Park, Seattle I fell in love with this house online, before I’d even moved to Seattle. It was an estate, so it hadn’t been touched since the 60’s. But there were great original bones – a flagstone entry way, a stone fireplace that divided the front and back of the house. Not to mention a view of the lake. When I was re-doing it I had a totally different color scheme in mind – cooler, with more greys.

Theresa is the owner of Cashmere Floral Designs in Seattle, and her beautifully arranged designs are peppered throughout the space, adding a natural warmth to their DIY home. Nestled on a quiet street in Boulevard Park, the house is small but perfectly styled, warm and friendly.
