Before and After: This Heavy Target Ottoman Is Now a Breath of Fresh AirHome Projects
A reader felt that this “dark, old, manly faux leather ottoman” didn’t suit their apartment’s bright, new, laid-back vibe. So all it took was a staple gun and a colorful blanket to give it a fun, sunny new look.

Before & After: Sad Headboard Gets a Happy MakeoverHome Projects
This old headboard was glamorous once, but it was in bad shape when Eri found it. She decided to give it a beautiful refresh, with a happy, colorful twist: From Eri: This headboard was found about a year ago in a bad condition begging for help. It had this disgusting old varnish that just made it look dead. It was stripped with paint remover, then used Annie Sloan paint and wax to add some patina and refinish the wood.

Before & After: Vintage Sofa Gets a Girly Glam MakeoverHome Projects
Many might have passed over this sad vintage sofa, but not Janet. She had glam plans for this junk shop find, including a BIG seat refresh: That oversized seat cushion makes it all the more glamorous, don’t you think? Before & After: A New Life For A No-Name CastoffHome Projects
I spotted this gorgeous Thonet-esque chair while strolling through an antique mall a few months ago. It was in supremely rough shape, but I had a vision and at $8 I just couldn’t pass it up! The structure of the chair was very sturdy, and the condition of padding was fair. I carefully un-stitched the vinyl and saved it to use as a pattern. The frame had to be sanded and re-stained.

Before & After: I Spy A Reimagined SofaHome Projects
Megan fell hard for a semi-circular, midcentury tufted sofa she spotted at her local coffee shop but when she tracked down the source, the retail price was an unfathomable sum, only slightly less than the down payment on her house. Yikes! Once again Craigslist saves the day.

Before & After: Crazy Quilt Dining ChairsHome Projects
Ashley sent in the results of her just-completed upholstery project &mdash and it’s crazy! This afternoon I re-covered a set of four dining room chairs that my husband and I received from his GREAT grandmother, all the way across the Atlantic from Bermuda. It’s a lovely set — but the fabric in which they arrived was dirtied and dingy and was in desperate need of a change.
