Mood lighting is always in high demand — and when the internet finds it, social media is quick to blow it up for everyone to obsess over. That’s the case with this now-viral HomeGoods lamp, where one shopper just stumbled upon the “mother lode” of mood lighting. It’s a vintage-esque lamp that resembles other centuries-old styles, and although she found the last one at her HomeGoods location, you can snag a similar one online.

“We just hit the mother lode! She’s stunning, and she’s $32 on clearance,” Alexandria Elizabeth Herde from @theluxereality shared in a recent TikTok video, adding in the caption, “and there was only one left, what a winnn.”

What Is a Banker’s Lamp?

The banker’s lamp dates back to the early 20th century, and as the name suggests, was primarily used in banks at the height of its fame. The original lamp design was actually dubbed the “Emeralite” because its shade was most commonly emerald green. Green was a favorite among financial institutions because, when turned on, the light emitted was a warm, soothing hue that was thought to promote concentration and focus.

In spite of green being the most popular color, the Emeralite lamp was produced in various shades — similar to the one Herde found at HomeGoods. Maybe it’s because burgundy was 2025’s Christmas color, but the model Herde unearthed features that deep, velvety shade.

In the comments section of Herde’s post, one TikTok user shared that they found an Emeralite look-alike on Amazon. Although this one looks like a classic vintage piece, it comes with a touch-activated base and two charging ports for your electronics.

It’s a bit more expensive than the HomeGoods version, but with its modern features embedded, a $60 price tag still feels like a steal.

Improve your focus, efficiency, and ambience in your home office by upgrading to a vintage-style banker’s lamp. The vintage vibe will make your space that much more enjoyable for work.
