IKEA has been working hard recently to help college students make the most of their small spaces. In addition to its recent collection of dorm essential “starter boxes,” this Saturday June 22, IKEA is hosting its first-ever Grad Bash! Nationwide IKEA locations are inviting local high school graduates and their parents to enjoy games, activities, and exclusive promotions to help prepare students for college — and there are some great deals to be had.

Upon arrival, all students will first collect a welcome kit, which includes a raffle ticket for items like a cooler bag, a microwave lid and/or a travel flatware set, in addition to a free hot dog and a refreshing mocktail.

As for activities, IKEA is championing some of its most iconic products for games: In the “Fill a FRAKTA” competition, grads will race to fill one of those classic blue shopping bags with items from a “shopping list.” The winners will be entered into a drawing to take home the entire bag.

Contestants can also choose to take part in the LACK assembly race, working against the clock to build the iconic LACK table; the winner of this challenge will go home with a $20 IKEA gift card, but all participants will also keep their assembled LACK table.

On top of all of this, IKEA will be offering a one-day IKEA Family promotion during the Grad Bash: Attendees will save $10 on purchases of $100 or more, $15 on purchases of $150 or more, and $20 on purchases of $200 or more.

Grads need to bring a school ID, graduation photo, report card, or other documentation in order to be granted entry to the event. Any and all interested students and parents can check out their local store page on IKEA’s website for specifics. Happy shopping, and happy savings — oh, and congratulations grads!
