As IKEA continues to roll out a whole arsenal of outdoor gems designed to enhance your patio, backyard, or balcony space, it’s making room for its shiny new inventory by quietly phasing out some of its most established fan-favorite products. Case in point: A cottagecore handwoven rattan-like patio loveseat that will be gone for good once the current stock is sold out.
The IKEA HÖGSTEN Loveseat Is Being Discontinued
While the $269.99 white wicker HÖGSTEN Loveseat is the latest IKEA product getting the chop, it’s not for want of positive reviews. Dozens of happy customers have called out the “beautiful” outdoor gem for being “perfect for a small space,” with others lauding its “comfortable” and “sturdy” build that can make any outdoor area “look elevated and special.”
In short, this coastal piece — which measures 57.5 inches in length, 25.25 inches in depth, and 29.5 inches in height — is as perfect for elevating a tiny city patio as it is for a sprawling backyard space.
As a bonus, the HÖGSTEN is made out of a handwoven white steel plastic rattan-like weave, giving you the on-trend appearance you want with none of the outdoor maintenance and upkeep of real wicker material. As a caveat, however, several reviewers noted that the IKEA loveseat didn’t come with outdoor cushions, so you’ll need to buy those separately on IKEA’s website or at another store.
A Worthy Alternative to the HÖGSTEN Loveseat
Unfortunately, people are already snatching up the HÖGSTEN Loveseat, and there’s a chance it might not be available for pickup or delivery at your closest IKEA location. However, Wayfair is selling a similar Orren Ellis design that looks and measures pretty similarly to the IKEA one.
Measuring 52 inches in length, 28.25 inches in depth, and 33 inches in height, the Orren Ellis Iron Outdoor Loveseat also has a sleek faux rattan woven design with black metal legs. Currently on sale for $193.99, it’s a slightly more modern look than the country cottage vibes of the IKEA version, thanks to the contrasting hardware and the curved hamrock-weave seat.
However, reviewers called out the “stylish and comfortable” design, as well as the “great size” and “good quality” build, so this might be a good alternative if you’re looking for a small-space outdoor statement piece.
