IKEA is known for having products that capture shoppers’ attention and become iconic (donut lamps, anyone?). However, an item’s popularity doesn’t guarantee that it’ll be around forever (unfortunately). That’s what’s happening with the oh-so-striking VARMBLIXT pendant that’s currently marked with the dreaded “Last Chance to Buy” sticker on IKEA’s website.

What Is the VARMBLIXT Pendant?

The VARMBLIXT pendant looks so high-end, but it’s below $210. The designer-quality look comes from the three intertwined, twisted, and frosted glass light strips shaped like the letter “U.” When the pendant is flicked on, it provides a warm glow that isn’t too strong on the eyes. The unique shape is a perfect addition to contemporary homes or minimalist spaces.

Just look at how August and designer Jake Poser displayed the pendant in their glam-infused New York City brownstone. The VARMBLIXT pendant hangs above the bed in their primary bedroom, which has a somewhat neutral color palette, with pops of black. The pendant fits in perfectly and is a statement without being the star of the show. Although the couple is renting the apartment, they thought the IKEA light was worthy of changing out the initial fixtures.

“Honestly, everyone should make friends with their electrician,” Jake said at the time of the House Tour. “It’s the easiest and simplest way to upgrade any space.”

Another bonus? You don’t have to worry about swapping out lightbulbs within the VARMBLIXT pendant because it has LED light sources built into the fixture. IKEA claims the light should last 20 years if it’s on for three hours a day.

What Are IKEA Shoppers Saying?

Although IKEA says the VARMBLIXT pendant is best above dining tables, shoppers have found uses for it all over their homes. “It’s an incredible statement piece and looks like art when you walk into the home,” James, an IKEA shopper, wrote about hanging the fixture in the entryway. “Looks and feels like high-quality. Beautiful color and is warm. Modern. Sleek. Art.”

Katherine, another IKEA shopper, wrote in a review, “Gorgeous light fixture. Installation easier if familiar with installing ceiling fan. Roomy hubby 1/2 hour to install. Love the design. Can’t believe it isn’t sold out.”

It might be your last chance to shop IKEA’s VARMBLIXT pendant — don’t miss the opportunity to add a relatively inexpensive statement piece to your home. To see more of Jake and August’s apartment, visit the full House Tour.
