I Finally Found the Perfect Accent Chairs for My Living Room After Months of Searching

My living room has a somewhat awkward layout. I host a lot, but my couch is on the smaller side at just about 80”. I’ve been looking for ages for some accent chairs, so that my friends and I would be able to actually sit across from each other to talk. I also wanted to make sure the chairs were easily movable, so that for movie nights I could reposition them toward the TV. So when I got the opportunity to test LuxenHome’s Brie Camel Swivel Barrel Accent Chairs, I knew they’d be the perfect fit. 

The Brie Swivel Barrel Accent Chair stood out to me as a modern design that still felt classic enough to pair well with some of my more grandma-coded decor. The fabric reminds me of an oversized corduroy, and I was pleasantly surprised by how soft it was, like a faux fur. 

I also love the swivel feature. In about two months of use, I haven’t had any issues with the swivel functionality. They work well on the hardwood and equally well when placed on the carpet. I recently had a Twilight movie marathon, and the swivel functionality made it super easy to switch between facing the TV and discussing Bella’s ever-questionable choices with the rest of the crowd on the couch.

I love the look of the low back on these chairs, though I was worried they might not feel so cozy — and I’m happy to say I was definitely wrong about that. They’re designed to be ergonomic, with the site explaining that the design promotes a more comfortable sitting posture. I’ve definitely found this to be true, and my guests agree that the chairs remained comfortable though the duration of both Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2.

The chairs arrived mostly assembled, with the back divided into two pieces and shipped inside of the barrel portion. They were light enough for me (with little-to-no no upper body strength and no help) to get the boxes up to my second-floor walk-up apartment, and each took about 30 minutes to put together. I used my drill to get it done faster, but they also come with an Allen wrench for easy assembly if you don’t have tools. 

I will say that when connecting the two pieces of the back, it was tricky to get them to line up perfectly, so in one of the chairs you can see the point where they meet. It was also a little tricky to stretch and attach (with velcro edges) the fabric cover over the back portion. That doesn’t bother me too much, however, since I usually style them with throw pillows and pushed up against the wall, so the imperfections are not really visible. Overall, the ease of assembly was a huge plus. The chairs also come with a one-year warranty, which is great to have. 

Overall, the Brie Camel Swivel Barrel Chairs have made a huge improvement to my formerly awkward living room, both in looks and functionality. LuxenHome offers a variety of products, and I think these chairs are pretty well-priced for what you get. I’d recommend them if you’re looking for an modern-style accent chair that’s more compact in size for smaller spaces. 

I could also see this style working well as a vanity chair, or as a cozy accent for a bedroom. They’re great for styling in corners and make the perfect soft, sunny nap spot for my cat, Phoebe (she might be even more excited about them than I am!).
