Neah Sofa Bed - Curved Arm

When I moved into my apartment, I was excited to finally have a space of my own. Once I was settled, I made a list of home essentials, and a couch quickly made the top of the list. I wanted a comfortable spot where I could rewatch old episodes of Girlfriends, take Zoom calls, relax, and host — but I needed something that could also double as a bed for overnight guests.

Since I live in a studio apartment in New York City, every inch of space is sacred, so whatever I chose had to be multifunctional. That’s when I realized a sofa bed would be ideal for my situation. When I got the chance to test the Neah Sofa from the Sofa Bed Store, it felt like perfect timing.

Quick Overview

A Quick Look at the Neah Sofa

  • Available in three sizes: Extra Long Double, Queen, and King
  • Available in three neutral tones: Mellow Cream, Mellow Khaki, and Mellow Brown
  • Available in three arm styles: Curved, Slim, and Standard
  • Features a pocket coil mattress for real support (not just foam)
  • Compact design — largest size measures just 71” long, which is perfect for small apartments
  • Upholstered in soft, textured performance polyester that resists stains and cleans easily

When the Neah sofa first arrived, I was immediately happy with how the color and size fit into my space — it felt like a natural addition to my studio before I even had a chance to test it out. The delivery was fast and seamless too. They offer complimentary white glove delivery in major U.S. cities, usually within two to three weeks. The sofa arrives in parts, and the delivery team assembles it in your room of choice and takes all the packaging away with them, which made setup stress free.

Design Features That Stand Out

The overall design of the sofa bed is sleek and compact, which was exactly what I needed for my space. I chose the style with curved arms because of its modern design — it complements my apartment while still fitting my personal aesthetic — but you can also choose from standard or slim arms.

The sofa has a supportive feel throughout, from the back cushions to the seat cushions. Even after hours of lounging, the pillows hold their shape instead of looking worn-in, which means I never have to worry about fluffing them. I actually appreciate the firmness because it gives me the support I need whether I’m just relaxing or working from the couch. The size is also just right for my small studio — the queen-sized (measuring 63” x 79”) fits comfortably without overwhelming the narrow space and easily seats two people without feeling cramped, which makes hosting easy for me.

If lighter colored fabrics on a sofa make you nervous, you’re in luck: the Neah comes in easy care performance fabrics that are stain resistant and repel moisture and designed so that a spill won’t penetrate the fabric.

Beyond function, the Neah really elevates the look of my apartment. The compact frame and neutral tone make the space feel bigger and more pulled-together, almost like I designed the room around it.

How It Performed

I’ve had the Neah sofa for about four months now, and I use it every day. Even with daily use, the cushions have kept their shape and the frame still feels sturdy. It works equally well for lounging during the day and converting into a bed at night, and I haven’t noticed any sagging or wear in the cushions. For a compact sofa bed, it strikes a good balance between durability and functionality, which makes it a reliable piece for small-space living.

I also tested out the sofa bed by sleeping on it for a full night. I added queen-sized sheets, my comforter and pillows to get cozy. The Neah’s mattress combines a no-zag suspension system with a pocket spring core housed in a plush, high-resilient OEKO-TEX® foam layer. It was supportive, and I found it gave me a good night’s sleep. But I’d recommend adding a mattress topper for additional support and comfort if you or a guest is planning to use it for longer periods of time.

Converting the Neah from a sofa to a bed takes about a minute. Simply remove the cushions, lift the seat base, and push the back head support down so it’s flat. It was easy to handle on my own without needing an extra set of hands. In terms of weight, it feels like lifting a small-to-medium box. Once it’s fully extended, the bed is divided into three sections, which is how you know it’s properly pulled out.

Since I work from home a few days a week, I often take Zoom calls or spend hours typing on my laptop on the sofa. The firm cushions provide enough back support to stay comfortable through a full workday. I wanted something that wasn’t just stylish but also functional, and this sofa checks both boxes.
