This Smart Scent Diffuser is Perfect for Refreshing Small Spaces

After a winter’s worth of dry, stuffy, radiant heat, my one-bed apartment was begging for a total refresh. I gave it the deep clean it needed, but it still didn’t have that energized spring wakeup feeling I was in the mood for. So I was thrilled to try out Pura’s new Pura Mini™ Smart Fragrance Diffuser. Made specifically for small spaces, this new device promises premium scents at a fraction of the price.

This latest launch from Pura is a smaller, chic-er version of their classic plug-in diffuser, perfect for apartment-dwellers like myself looking for a scent that doesn’t totally overwhelm their space. 

Set-up was a breeze; pretty much all you have to do is download the app and plug in the device. You can set a timer or a schedule for your diffuser through the app so you never waste scent while you’re out, and even adjust the intensity of the fragrance. The app even automatically registers the fragrance via a chip in the bottom of the vial, so you always know exactly what fragrance you’re using and how much is left. 

I tried the French Linen fragrance from the Studio McGee collaboration. It has an airy, spring-y feel, like clean sheets fresh from the clothesline! It’s refreshing and strong enough to cover scents from the litterbox without being too overpowering.

Once I had it up and running, I tried the Pura Mini™ in three different areas of my apartment. My bathroom is a classic pre-war design, meaning it has lovely original tiles but the ventilation is lacking. It’s also directly across from my cat’s litter box area, so having a scent there helped keep things extra fresh. I kept it on low intensity so the fragrance didn’t become too overpowering in the tiny enclosed space, and I liked how the plug-in’s small profile fit in perfectly on my shelves. 

In the kitchen, the diffuser kept the space smelling delicious all day, and I liked being able to turn it off while cooking without unplugging. I also discovered I was able to change the color of the light, and matched it to the warm-toned lamp I keep nearby. Being that my entryway leads straight into the kitchen, the device was also well-positioned there for maximum impact: On high intensity, it makes the whole apartment feel fresh directly upon entry, and I could also smell it in the kitchen without it being too overpowering. I loved that the device features a rotating plug, making it usable on my wonky sideways outlet.

As it continues to get warmer in NYC and I continue to get busier, I know I’ll appreciate having my Pura Mini™ around even more in the coming months. Even in a small space, I don’t always get around to mopping my floors each week or doing a deep clean of my bathroom after my big spring clean, so having a fragrance to keep my home feeling fresh for longer will be a huge help.
