I absolutely adore plants and flowers. My home is packed to the brim with them. So I’m always on the hunt for storage hacks for my indoor plants, especially since I live in a small apartment. Recently I found the ideal solution via this Apartment Therapy story. The brilliant, unexpected problem solver? A toilet paper holder.

Why a Toilet Paper Holder Is a Brilliant Storage Gem

Originated by creators Crystal and Scott Ransons, this storage trick involves using a toilet paper holder in the kitchen as a brilliant storage gem. In the video, they show how it can hold a glass vase with gorgeous blooms, but you could even use it to store other things like a utensil crock, a small plant, or even cooking ingredients, like a bottle of olive oil or balsamic vinegar.

This trick is so smart as it transforms a budget-friendly, easily available home accessory into something unexpectedly aesthetically pleasing and practical. It’s key to pick an ornate holder that looks chic and is functional at the same time.

How I Plan to Use This Storage Trick

When I saw this clever trick, I instantly fell in love with the idea (it’s just so practical and stylish), and I plan on replicating it in my kitchen. I would use it for flowers, a small plant, or a decorative candle.

Additionally, I also plan to add another toilet paper holder, like this gorgeous black vintage-inspired one, in my bedroom. It would be ideal to add a clear glass container inside to hold makeup brushes and other hair accessories like hair ties, brushes, and hair clips (I’m always losing those). I can’t get over how simple yet ingenious this trick is! Who knew that a toilet paper holder could be so versatile?! I sure didn’t!
