Walmart’s $4 Room Scents Smell like Designer Fragrances 10x Its Price
Fragrances are like a signature — you may have one that you consistently spritz on before you leave the house, and more likely than not, you have room sprays, candles, and diffusers around your home to carry a similar note. Walmart might be the last place you’d think to shop for such a signature scent, but the big-box retailer is becoming known for some serious scents.
Walmart just dropped an under-$9 ScentMatch collection of wax melts that smell just like iconic high-end perfumes with cult followings (think: Sol de Janiero’s Cheirosa 62 or Le Labo’s Santal 33).
“Walmart just dropped new home scents, and they’re already viral,” the creator behind @walmartfavs wrote in a recent caption. “Scent Match + Better Homes & Gardens did NOT miss, my house smells unreal. These are flying off [the] shelves, so don’t wait.”
The creator picked up melts in the scents Paint It Red, which smells like Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 450 and Warm Santal, a dead ringer for Le Labo’s Santal 33, and the beachy, tropical Rey De Sol, which smells just like Sol De Janeiro.
Walmart’s Home Scents Smell Just like Designer Perfumes
Sets of single fragrance cubes will only set you back $4, but you can also pick up the ScentMatch Discovery Kit for just under $9. There are three versions of this set, each with six unique scents, so you can try a handful of bestsellers to choose a favorite (if that’s even possible!).
“One of the best things that has ever been created,” one person wrote in their review about the No. 3 Discovery Kit. “I love how there are different smells, and they resemble the actual fragrances … Honestly surprised this doesn’t cost more! I love the Chanel Blu. It smells identical; my whole house smells amazing.”
Whether you choose a single fragrance or the discovery kit, the wax melts can be used in any standard wax warmer (electric or candlelit). Reviewers say the scents are not only identical to the perfumes they reference, but they’re fragrant enough to fill up your home, yet not so overpowering that they’ll give you a headache.
Head to Walmart to check out the new line of ScentMatch wax melts to see if your favorite designer perfume has made the cut. You might just end up finding a new go-to scent.
